Glossy, wholly implausable story set in sunny California. Upbeat and wholesome. A bit convoluted with the child the most adult-acting of all the characters. The failing author succeeeds thanks to the little girl's intervention. It's bit pat and pretty but overall a good story. The biggest drawback is the unfriendly treatment of the single mother.
A little girl plays matchmaker for two lonely adults in this romantic comedy. Melissa (Lorraine Ansel), one of Harrison's former girlfriends, appears at his doorstep with her six-yerar-old daughter, Jenny (Emily Mae Young). Harrison develops a soft spot for her and Jenny decides what single Harrison needs is a steady girlfriend. Jenny prods Harrison into a relationship with Holly (Yasmine Bleeth), a beautiful woman who frequents the same coffee shop. Undercover Angel also features James Earl Jones as the judge and Casey Kasem as himself.
