FUTURE IS WILD, THE cover image
Very appropriate computer-animated science program. The premise is a bit high concept to connect with a child audience. The back story; is complicated and the current story is just a bit scattered. The characters are hip and trendy. The scientific information imparted is excellent.
Ethan, Emily and Luis are three kids from the 21st century, who happen to be in the wrong place at the right time when they meet up with C.G., a distant inhabitant from the seventh solar system 10,00 years into the future whose civilization is threatened by an impending new Ice Age. When C.G. adopts the 21st century kids as her new crew, they are all propelled into the future on the Time Flyer, tasked with the mission of finding a future sustainable habitat for humanity. But little did the 21st century kids know when they signed up for this mission that they'd encounter a variety of bizarre creatures that they must befriend or outwit in order to avoid becoming dinner! From "Spitfire Birds" of the Antarctic Rainforest, (yes, "rainforest"! Due to shifting continents, Antarctica may be near the equator in 100 million years!), whose nostrils spray acid (or "killer snot" as Ethan calls it), to the eight-foot tall "Carakiller" birds with sickle shaped claws of the Amazonian grasslands, to the fierce and carnivorous "Slickribbon" millipede, the crew of the Time Flyer have a hard time keeping pace with these amazing evolutionary adaptations and extreme climates!
