While this happened a few years ago, the message is still very relevant. Frequently, "different" is perceived as wrong. The Summerhill method of teaching defied the accepted norm and threatened the educational system. People learn in different environments, at different speeds and with different methods. The kids at Summerhill were able to take charge of their future and, by working together, convince the establishment that "different" can be good. That kids need opportunities to learn in different ways which may actually be better than the established program.
