I was unfamiliar with this Japanese folktale and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is part of the "Folktales from Around the World" series, all of which are simply produced, well narrated and most enjoyable. It's a great way to expose young kids to stories from another culture. The moral of this story, about being happy being yourself is one anyone can relate to.
