REFLECTIONS: OLIVIA
This is a short documentary and I thought the style was cool. They did a montage of images and videos while narrating their journeys. It shows the girls reflecting on their lives, one on her Bat Mitzvah and how she wants to better herself; the other about her strong family values and traditions. Both girls share a few things in common: their love for theater and writing. Girls will especially enjoy this coming-of-age film.
This is two separate films, each about a girl from very different backgrounds. The first biography is about Olivia's Bat Mitzvah and the other about a Puerto Rican girl. Each of them explore their culture and family values. Nicely done live action with stills.
Two young girls introduce themselves and speak about their cultural heritage, one Jewish and one Puerto Rican, in a casual and creative way. Olivia and Cassandra share their experiences of family, culture and social responsibilities growing up in an urban environment.
