This series s quite funny and suitable for 10 to 18-year-olds. It is more suitable for girls, due to the fashion references and the beauty aspect. This film meets all the KIDS FIRST criteria and isn't biased in any sense. Although it does portray most Beverly Hills' white girls as dumb and rich. There is also one use of the word "skank" which I found inappropriate and although the f word is never explicitly said, there are multiple uses of the an abbreviated form such as, "fml", "ftw" and "wtf." It is an interesting story and although it's a bit clich, I enjoyed it. The video quality is very good. The angles are a bit shaky but the overall images are great. The acting is fairly believable. The cinematography is quite good although there is room for improvement in lighting and such. Although it's a low budget film, I was impressed by the good audio and sets. What's most appealing is the ghost factor. Reviewed by Taylor M. KIDS FIRST! Juror
While the title is a comedy, it deals with real-life activities of young people in wealthy Beverly Hills. This entry is comprised of 12 episodes which follow each other. It is very watchable. The audience can look forward to watching Sari and Miss Beverly Hills "Missy Palmer" solve this murder mystery. The first episode opens with scenes in New Jersey (the Garden State), Sari Coogan's original home, showing an industrial site, not a farm or garden and provides a great contrast. The flash back of how Sari's injury led to her being able to see ghosts is quite amusing. In the other episodes, Sari is forced to do things totally against her character to comply with the request of the ghost of Miss Palmer. This series definitely uses vocabulary and concepts suitable and understandable for young people. I recommend this for young people, particularly young women ages 13 to 18 because they will relate to and identify with the characters. Reviewed by Juanita S., KIDS FIRST! Juror.
