This is a very unique and creative series. It is also very humorous and entertaining with charming storylines. There is a certain limitation since it is without dialogue. Today's viewers are so accustomed to noisy entertainment that they might be put off by the quietness of the series. The stories make sense and flow well. The films use a unique and different type of puppet animation that I am not used to. It reminds me a lot of Nick Parks' Wallace and Gromit films, although that series is claymation. I personally enjoy silent films and these shorts work well. A child would highly enjoy then because of the funny and surprising scenes. I feel that these shorts could be very addicting for young viewers. One of my favorite scenes is when the puppet cooks pancakes. I recommend this for ages 4 to 11 and give it 4 out of 5 stars. I love the puppet work, but I am concerned that it is so dark on screen. A child would enjoy this for its fun puppets. It flows well and is age appropriate. There is a scene where the man interacts with his dog and it's one of the most sound filled parts with kissing sounds and it works well. This scene is also the most well lit. I love the whole thing, except for the darkness. I'm not sure how well it will hold up on the big screen. It was a pleasure to watch and reminded me of works by Jim Henson and Tim Burton. It is funny. I am a fan of silent films and this has all of the spirit of a silent film, with more sound effects. Children would really like the creativity. I wanted to see more episodes. This meets the KIDS FIRST! criteria. I think this series has a great deal of potential. I had fun watching the puppet cook! Recommended for ages 5 to 12. Reviewed by Rachael V., KIDS FIRST! Juror.
