I recommend this film for a couple reasons. The story behind the film drew me and will draw many other people in as well. That is one reason I loved it. It's a girl's story that she dreamed of putting on the big screen before she passed. And, now it is getting the chance to do just that. It is also a great story. People will love the magic and wonder in this film. They will also see familiar faces of some famous and amazing actors such as Bailee Madison (Bridge to Terabithia, Once Upon a Time), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, Pitch Perfect 2), Jackson Rathbone (Twilight), James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek), JK Simmons (Spider-Man), and Kaitlin Doubleday (Catch Me if You Can). The production quality of this film is amazing. I think people will find this appealing because Ashley, the protagonist, manages to do all the things she does, while battling mitochondrial disease. Most appealing about this film is that, even thought they use a magic bracelet, they still remind everybody that their magic comes from them. This movie flows well. It has a good back story that explains everything. This will inspire people to, as Rina Goldberg (screenplay writer) says, "Always love life, dream big, be positive." I recommend this title for playing at the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival because it is inspiring and will appeal to many types of people. I recommend it for ages 7 to 18 age and give it 5 out of 5 stars. Make A Film Foundation is a non-profit organization which grants film wishes to children who have serious or life-threatening medical conditions. This short film, The Magic Bracelet, fulfills the final wish of Rina Goldberg who passed away of Mitochondrial disease just after her 15th birthday. Some of her final words to her mom were, "Promise to take care of my film." We are honored to showcase this film with our KIDS FIRST! Film Festival partners. Concept by Rina Goldberg, adapted by Diablo Cody.
