I highly recommend this film for the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival. The topic is very suitable for grade school kids and the plot is a clever one. This short student film is about a girl named Lilly who just started at a new school. She is having a difficult time making friends so, Lilly decides to make up "The Lottery Game". The game invites her classmates to come and choose a number and win a prize. Soon, she gets discovered by her dad and he forbids the game, because Lilly is taking important stuff from their house. I like how the plot is carried well through every scene. The film shows a positive message about how friends are people that like you for who you are, not for giving them something. Laila Lebrik, who plays Lily is very believable in her role as a girl trying to make friends at a new school. The other cast members are very good too. The film flows very well. The production values are quite good with clear audio and video. Although sometimes the audio level is a bit low, even when turned up to its highest. The sets are quite appropriate for the story. I rate this film 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 10 through 18. Reviewed by Damon F., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic, and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Adult Juror.
In order to make friends at a new school, Lily leads a lottery game by giving away her prizes to others. When her game is found out and forbidden, a series of unexpected incidents makes her disappointed, but her real friendship also slowly comes to her
