I truly enjoyed this short film and credit the filmmaker for delivering such an emotional journey in less than 11 minutes. Beautifully filmed, it sensitively portrays the confines of a young woman in her own home. The camera work is outstanding and the acting, particularly by the protagonist is very good. There is a sense of suspense that builds up, enhanced by the background music.

The limited animation also enhances the storyline, giving us images of butterflies when the girl has "butterflies" in her stomach.

The costumes suit the characters, from the uniformed soldier in the garden to the girl in the house who wears some typical regional clothing from Mexico as well as others. The sound effects are, at times, terrifying, giving us a sense of the girl's trauma. When the ending comes, we have a huge sense of relief.

Very artistic and thought provoking. Highly recommended for the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival for ages 12 to 18, I give this 4.5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Adult Juror.
