Ready, set, Bake! This series of shows follows 12 amateur bakers, all of whom are hoping to win the competition and become Britain's best. There are two main judges - well-known Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. It starts out with one of my favorite baked items - CAKE and at the end, someone is eliminated. Obviously, the worst of the 12 is axed. Each show focuses on a different baked item such as bread, tarts, pies and more. This is a very addictive show, meaning that you want to continue watching. It has humor and is quite intense. I also like that they give a little back story on each contestant. I found myself rooting for one or two of them, but I won't say which one because one of them wins. It is simply fun to watch and, if you actually love to bake (as I do), this is a must-see! I actually learned a few helpful tips. There are ten episodes, including the finale. I give this 5 out of 5 stars for its entertainment and educational value and recommend it for ages 12 to 18. Younger children who are interested in backing will also enjoy it, as well many adults. Reviewed by Denise B., KIDS FIRST! Juror
The delectable baking competition that has grown into a beloved international phenomenon returns for a fifth season. The program features the original cast of Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, in a season never before seen in the U.S. Viewers will meet twelve of Britain's best amateur bakers who will don their aprons, enter the iconic tent and tackle culinary trials that increase in difficulty as the competition unfolds. Vying to be crowned star baker, challengers prepare three creations in each episode: a signature bake, which tests their creative flair and baking ability; the devilishly difficult technical challenge, in which contestants have to bake creations using only ingredient lists and minimal instruction; and finally, the showstopper, designed to fully showcase each baker's skill and creativity.

Contestants face the demanding but endearing judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, two icons of British baking who are now household names in America. Comedy duo Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc are the series hosts, providing the bakers with much-needed emotional support and comic relief. Offering viewers the perfect sweet summer escape, this program features unforgettable contestants attempting some of the series most difficult challenges, from bagels to strudel, treacle tarts to choux gateaus.
