I love the educational documentary Suzie Hicks the Climate Chick and its message about climate change. It has humor, facts, and stories from many different people in Los Angeles. This is exactly the type of film that KIDS FIRST! loves!

The storyline follows Suzie Hicks, an environmental educator who travels to Los Angeles together with her puppet to learn about climate science and share information with us.

I like that the content consists of multiple people's stories about how climate change is affecting them. It really puts into perspective how everyone must do their part to reduce the impacts that arise from climate change. The camera angles, especially relating to the storyline, added to the plot and are a nice extra touch. They use some stop motion claymation that is really impressive. The main character, Suzie Hicks is played by Susannah Hicks herself. She has a passion for spreading awareness about climate change. Sprout, the puppet, help her develop confidence and minimize her levels of stress. It's comforting to know that other people feel similar emotions. Suzie Hicks' dedication to this show is remarkable. She directs, writes and stars in it. My favorite part of the film is when Suzie and Sprout play the Wheel of Consequences. It's an interesting way to learn facts. Sometimes, the quality is a bit pixelated, but overall, the production values are high enough to meet big screen standards.

The message of this film is that anyone can do their part to change climate change. Peaceful protests, reducing energy, and simply spreading awareness are all active and simple solutions.

I give Suzie Hicks the Climate Chick 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 18. This is suitable for a KIDS FIRST! Film Festival because it's very informational and entertaining, especially for kids. The whole family will benefit from watching this film. This qualifies as the special topics of the environment and educational. By Sydney S., KIDS FIRST!

An environmental educator and her anxious puppet co-host travel the world to learn about climate science, all while working together with local communities to inspire action.
