CrabDance is beautifully executed and tells its story in a quiet way.

A girl has grown up so fast when she didn't even realize it. In the meantime, the place she has been living in has a big change.

This short film is an ode to mothers and daughters everywhere. It is a reminder of how fleeting childhood is. One day we are young children, or mothers of young children, and the next day, our young child is grown up and walking out the door on her own. The images of the young girl on the beach are hauntingly beautiful, as is the ending image of her as a young adult. The background music quietly looms behind the non-narrative film, telling its story in images. The filmmaker, Zilong Wang, gives us a pallet from which to draw our own conclusions.

The film's message is about the passage of time and the fleeting days of our youth.

I give CrabDance 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
