I find the film Rebirth to be a thought-provoking and introspective exploration of the life of an astronaut after his death. The film follows a team of compassionate robots as they care for the astronaut's body and attempt to learn more about his identity and his past. The film's exploration of themes of mortality, identity, and loss is both moving and thought-provoking.

In the silence of space, the body of an astronaut is tenderly cleaned by the compassionate robots. A family photo of him and his daughter is found in his spacesuit. As the robots scan the image, memories of a joyous past come to life, prompting an urgent quest to verify the astronaut's identity. "Rebirth" is an emotive and thought-provoking sci-fi odyssey that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit.

The black-and-white animation in Rebirth is beautifully crafted with meticulous attention to detail, from the astronaut's body to the robots' features. The discovery of a photo of the astronaut and his daughter in his spacesuit pocket prompts the robots to search for his identity, which they eventually learn is Abbott Marsh. The robots take even more time to care for him before sending him on a space drone back to Earth. I appreciate the detail of the robots' fingers, antennae, and the swirling "dust" in space, as well as the details of the astronaut's spacesuit. I also appreciate the message of the film, which honors the astronaut's humanity and the importance of returning him to his loved ones on Earth. The robots' final gesture of waving goodbye to him is a touching and memorable moment.

The film's message is an emotionally resonant and intellectually stimulating exploration of the depths of human emotion and our interconnectedness with our past and our loved ones.

I give Rebirth 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 18, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
