I enjoyed this student animated short film -- interesting plot, well executed.

The story follows a young girl, Imani, whose favorite video game characters come to life and she has to choose how to deal with them.

I'm not a gamer so I can't tell if these characters were from actual games or not, but they are definitely well designed. I love when they emerge from as live characters after she thinks that her console has been ruined. My favorite scene is when EverGreen runs outside, lays down on the grass and moves as if he's making a snow angel. When Imani's friendly neighbor suggests that they could become friends, EverGreen and Blackheart are having their own "friendship" moment and all's resolved as the game characters jump back into the console.

The film's message is that given the options of "fight, flee or befriend" befriending might be the best option.

I give Game Boys 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!

When characters of her favorite video game come to life, Imani must choose between fighting and friendship or risk losing the game for the last time.
