Adorable. I simply enjoyed this cute short animated film by a college student. It has all the ingredients that make it suitable for KIDS FIRST!

The story follows a bird named Pip, who is recovering from a broken wing at a rehab center and her friends, a gecko named Echo, who is the unofficial guardian at the rehab center. Pip has her eyes set on a water fountain she spots outside the rehab center and nothing is going to stop her from going there to take a little plunge. Echo does his best to convince her of the dangers involved but, in the end, Pip finds a way.

What a lovely piece of animation and, if you watch the credits, you can see why. There's quite a sizable team that contributed to this piece, led by Anne Di Martino. The characters really stand out as they are unique and well defined. The voice actors that play them are equally on target - Anne Di Martino voices Pip and Miyabi Goedert voices Echo. The background music works, but I especially like the Hawaiian music played under the credits.

The film's message is about following your dreams, even if there's a little danger involved.

I give Pip and Echo 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 5 to 8, plus adults. By Marianne G., KIDS FIRST!

"Pip and Echo" follows Pip, a baby water obsessed Oahu `Elepaio recovering from a wing injury who escapes the rehabilitation center to pursue a bird fountain. Echo, a homebody of a house gecko and unofficial guardian of the rehab chases Pip through the danger of the outside.
