I love films about courage and doing what you believe is right and this film nails it. Made by a father/daughter team, it's perfect for KIDS FIRST!

The story is about a teen-age girl who goes to visit her aunt in the French countryside together with her father. She learns that her beloved horse, named Black is dying and becomes distraught. Mysteriously, Black wanders into the forest and Amelie follows him only to come upon a witch living in a hut made of sticks who bargains with her - the health of Black return in exchanged for a piece of Amelie - will she take the bargain?

Any horse lover or animal lover will relate to the dilemma posed in this story - let go of a part of your personality in exchange for your beloved fur buddy's return to good health. This is well produced with excellent camera work and editing; a great location, great acting and an intriguing script. My favorite part is the ending; for which you will have to watch this to find out. I look forward to future projects from this father/daughter team as it's perfect for our KIDS FIRST! Film Festivals.

The film's message is about living your truth.

I give Amelie and Black 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 18. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!

During a summer visit to her aunt in the French countryside, 14-year-old Amelie is struck by heartbreaking news: her childhood friend, a horse named Black, is dying. In the depths of an enchanted forest, she encounters a mysterious witch and strikes a fateful bargain -- a healthy Black in exchange for something people often live without, but Amelie may not.
