This high school animated film's storyline is about a young girl who loves ballet and loves the ballerina in her music box, but the ballerina doesn't love her back quite so much.
I love the stop motion animation used to tell this story. It's so well made and the details of the set and the character are so intricate, down to facial expressions and movements. I knew from the synopsis that the music box was going to be a plot twist but I was surprised at how it plays out. It's not frightening enough to scare younger kids but the audience is probably older tweens and teens. The background music is perfectly coordinated also.
The film's message is about the consequences we have when we're trying to learn something new. Sometimes you have to keep at it until you conquer it.
I give Fractured Grace 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
