Very enjoyable. I am a fan of young filmmakers and 12-yer-old Calvin Catania really hits it out of the park in this film noir short that he writes, directs, produces and stars in.

The storyline follows a 1930s detective at the "Make Em Pay Detective Agency" with a flair for the unusual as he demonstrates his unique style of catching criminals and crime catching philosophy.

Filmed in black and white and placed in the early 1930s, the production itself warrants our attention with its quality camera work, sets & locations, audio recording and editing. Many adult indie filmmakers could learn a lot from watching the craftsmanship of this filmmaker. The storyline is clever and fun and the moral of the film is fitting.

I give Cheap$Kate 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12, plus adults. By Janet S., KIDS FIRST!

While a crafty detective teaches you his unique style of catching criminals, another criminal is on the run and heading down a dark alley he shouldn't be going down. In the end, someone has to pay for their crimes.
