BIG LEAGUE, THE cover image
The Big League is a heartwarming sports drama that highlights the power of humor and teamwork. When premier league coach Eliran (Israel Atias) gets into trouble on the field, he is sent to coach "Ilanot," a struggling youth soccer team in Israel. Over time, both Eliran and his players transform from a disjointed group into a supportive family. Critic Zamyra G. praises the film's close-up cinematography for capturing the raw emotion of the characters as they learn to rely on one another. Beyond the on-screen story, the film is a beautiful real-world testament to unity, created through a close collaboration between Israeli and Palestinian filmmakers, cast, and crew.

While the film is uplifting, it deals with heavy real-world issues. Parents should be aware of mild profanity and a storyline involving a player being physically abused by his father. Ultimately, the film offers an inspiring message about finding a second family in your teammates.

I give The Big League 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. By Zamyra G., KIDS FIRST!

Eliran, a rising star soccer coach, loses his composure on the field and makes a fatal mistake that costs him everything: his status, fame, and fortune. Plummeting from the premier league, he is forced to take a job coaching "Ilanot," the worst school team in the state's northern region. What begins as a rocky, suspicious interaction soon transforms into a massive success story. When Eliran is finally offered a chance to reclaim his old life, he chooses to stay in the small northern town with his team and a newfound love.
