Where Is Your Home, Winston? is a deeply moving film that uses incredible storytelling to follow a Ukrainian dog named Winston, a professor forced to flee his home after a bombing destroys his university. Narration pairs seamlessly with vibrant animation in the first half to bring his journey to life as he travels to Finland. The film expertly balances these animated sequences with breathtaking live-action shots of Ukrainian sunflower fields and Finnish landscapes. Driven by clear, professional camerawork and an evocative violin score, Winston's transition into his new environment feels both heartfelt and timely given current world events. Watching him embrace new traditions and make friends illustrates the beautiful truth that home isn't just a location, but the people who surround you. This touching, relatable story highlights bravery and resilience in the face of change. I give Where Is Your Home, Winston? 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12. -- By Hafsa H., KIDS FIRST!

Based on a true story, Where is your home, Winston? follows a Ukrainian Corgi forced to flee Kharkiv for Finland. Leaving behind his home and dog friend Sirko, Winston--a former Professor of Smell Sciences--struggles to adapt to snowy forests, unfamiliar scents, and foreign barks. His homesickness begins to heal when he meets a friendly dog named Kerttu. Though his initial attempts to woo a beautiful Powderpuff fall flat, Winston eventually wins her family over using his remarkable sniffing skills. Blending animated illustrations of Ukraine with live-action scenes in Finland, this heartwarming family film features the real-life dog Winston. Set to Ukrainian folk music and warm narration, it explores refugee displacement, integration, and belonging. Ultimately, Winston's journey shows how friendship and purpose can help rebuild a sense of home and safety, even amidst adversity.
